Award-winning author Jonthan Coe discusses his novel Mr Wilder and Me, plus we'll be exploring our enduring love for The Polar Express with author-illustrator Chris Van Allsburg.

Janice talks to last year’s Costa Novel Award winner Jonathan Coe about his new book Mr Wilder and Me, exploring the life of Golden Age Hollywood director Billy Wilder through the fictional story of a young woman who meets him in 1976 as Wilder's career is in decline. 

It's December and Christmas season has officially started. Janice chats to Chris Van Allsburg, creator, writer and illustrator of the original 1985 children’s book The Polar Express, of course later made into an acclaimed animated film starring Tom Hanks. Chris will be celebrating the 35th anniversary and  reflecting on the enduring appeal of his Christmas tale.

Ahead of the release of her latest film Concrete Plans, independent filmmaker Kathy Spiers will be discussing the challenges companies are facing in during the pandemic.

And in Tuesday Review; Jonathan Whitelaw, Andrea McKinnon and Craig Hill give their verdict on Miley Cyrus' new album Plastic Hearts, Netflix festive film Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square and BBC documentary Flint. From Scottish director Anthony Baxter, the doc tells the story of a Michigan town where tens of thousands of people were drinking water containing poisonous lead and explores how officials failed to respond to the manmade disaster.
