Throughout the programme we hear from Urban Witch and academic, Alice Tarbuck, who shares her approach to magic through connecting to the natural world and folklore.

Mark tests his nerve on a ghost walk to some of Edinburgh’s most haunted locations.  Will he meet the MacKenzie poltergeist who apparently makes his home in Greyfriars Cemetery?

We’re joined live by Susan Morrison, presenter of BBC Radio Scotland’s Time Travels and Witch Hunt to discuss why we are so fascinated with the macabre.  Susan also tells us about her favourite scary stories. 

Our archive piece comes from 2016 when Mark visited the small East Lothian village of Spott.  Several alleged witches were executed there in the 17th and 18th centuries and Mark hears about one in particular, Marion Lillie.
