Pressure & Purpose

Duration: 59 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Wales

DJ Target, Krept and Konan spring a shock on the artists by surprising them with their first challenge - they have 60 minutes to write about their musical influences. It’s a race against time as the artists attempt to prove they can write bars under pressure, before performing in front of rap legend D Double E.

In the second challenge, JME is the guest mentor as the artists are given a platform to rap about an issue they care about. From homelessness to the BLM movement, the artists dig deep to share their emotionally charged views on world events. But before they can take to the stage, the Covid-19 pandemic threatens to shut down the competition, while one rapper’s actions cost him his place in the penthouse. Show less
