Broadcaster and adventurer Ben Fogle talks about how the lockdown in the spring reminded him of all the lessons he had learned from his expeditions: rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean; crossing Antarctica on foot, surviving a year as a castaway on a remote Hebridean island, and summitting Mount Everest. He took the chance to get them down in a book, called INSPIRE- LIFE LESSONS FROM THE WILDERNESS and he joins Janice today to talk about it.

Singer Russell Watson is celebrating 20 years since the release of his hit debut album. He’ll be discussing his new album, 20, which captures key moments in his career with 13 newly recorded songs sung in his unmistakable trademark tenor.

BBC Radio Scotland, and TV presenter Kaye Adams and journalist and award winning writer Vicky Allan join Janice to talk about their new book, Hot Stuff: 42 Brilliantly Honest Menopause Stories, which started life when they compared their own personal experiences.

And as part of the Afternoon Show’s marking of October as Black History Month, British American mezzo soprano Andrea Baker joins Janice as guest editor, sharing her selection of great music and cultural picks- and a special interview she recorded with someone whose work she greatly admires, American singer and musician Rhiannon Giddens.
