This series takes viewers on a journey across Scotland following vets as they tend to animals from small to large to very wild. Stories of joy and stories of sadness as we meet all creatures great and small.

Jane Harley has to test some European bison at Highland Wildlife Park. The species became extinct in the wild in the 1920s and, as part of their conservation project, they are going to be reintroduced to a new site in the wild in northern Spain. But the process is risky.

At Glasgow Vet School, George Peplinski, one of the country's leading eye surgeons, carries out delicate surgery on a dog that involves creating an eyelid from its lip. And in Benbecula, Ealasaid Dick faces the challenge of trying to take a sample from a 100kg ram.
