We've got comedy gold with Des Clarke joining Nicola to chat about the new series of Breaking The News.

We’ve got double comedy lined up today! Friday marks the return of the country’s favourite topical comedy panel show – after celebrating its 5th Birthday a couple of weeks ago, Breaking the News is back for a 14th series, and Presenter and all-round comedy legend Des Clarke joins Nicola to chat all things comedy and lockdown. 

For our Make A Difference discussion this week we’re joined by Terry McTernan, a Covid response worker from Paisley who came up with the novel idea of an isolation bingo bus!

Last week we heard about a call out for art work to remember this time that will become part of The Great Tapestry of Scotland exhibit and this week we’re hearing from Museums and Galleries Edinburgh who want to record this strange time in the city’s history so generations to come can look back. 

Who says that learning has to be done with books alone? We’re following the life cycle of caterpillars as they transform into beautiful painted lady butterflies. 

June is Pride month, and although some celebrations have had to be postponed or moved online, there are still people over the country celebrating LGBTQ+ achievements, and raising awareness of the diversity we enjoy in this country.  And there are no age limits to Pride celebrations, as Friday Afternoon Show reporter Anna Welander found out, when she shared some diverse picture books with her husband and their two children.
