Officers check takeaways in Oldham to ensure the food is safe to eat, and they crack a gold bangle scam in Birmingham.

Officers carry out on-the-spot inspections at two takeaways in Oldham to ensure the food they serve is safe for everyone to eat – including the two million people who have diagnosed food allergies. 

Elsewhere, they make sure everyone gets home safely after a Westlife concert in Newcastle, and in Birmingham they go undercover to investigate a gold bangle scam that leaves customers thousands of pounds out of pocket and threatens to tarnish the city’s international reputation for top quality jewellery.
