DJ Edu brings his rich musical knowledge of the African music scene.  
And each week there’s a big interview with star name from music, fashion, football, and more – they’ll be sharing what excites them in music right now. 

This Is Africa also each week features DJ Edu’s Ten in Ten: 10 tracks from 10 different countries in 10 minutes. 
And there’s a focus on new talent every time – the programme will always be introducing up and coming artists from a different African country.

One of the biggest female Afrobeats stars talks to DJ Edu

Nigeria's Yemi Alade, one of the biggest female Afrobeats stars, talks to DJ Edu and performs her take on a Nina Simone classic.

This Is Africa welcomes Yemi Alade, one of the biggest and most vivacious female Afrobeats stars. The Nigerian superstar tells DJ Edu how her hit song Johnny almost never reached the public. It has now amassed more than a hundred million views on Youtube.

The TIA spotlight falls on Zimbabwe, and the talented producer turned recording artist Simbatagz. The list of people he’s worked with reads like a roll call of top flight talent, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Sarz and Wande Cole.

Every week This Is Africa digs into the crates and plays a classic track. This week there’s a treat: Yemi Alade sings her favourite classic of all time, Feeling Good by Nina Simone.
