With the hot new tunes from every corner of the motherland, This Is Africa is a weekly showcase of all-Africa musical talent.  
 
DJ Edu brings his rich musical knowledge of the African music scene.  
And each week there’s a big interview with star name from music, fashion, football, and more – they’ll be sharing what excites them in music right now. 

This Is Africa also each week features DJ Edu’s Ten in Ten: 10 tracks from 10 different countries in 10 minutes. 
And there’s a focus on new talent every time – the programme will always be introducing up and coming artists from a different African country.

DJ Edu meets one of the rising stars of Tanzanian music

DJ Edu discovers some of the hottest sounds coming out of Tanzania, and chats to Harmonize, one of the country's rising stars.

This is Africa this week focuses on Tanzania, the country which gave us Bongoflava, and one of Afropop’s biggest stars, Diamond Platnumz.  
 
Our guest is Harmonize, nurtured by Diamond, but now going it alone and getting millions of hits on Youtube. He was once told by the judges on a Tanzanian TV talent show to forget music as a career.
 
Tanzania’s music scene is male dominated, but we shine the TIA spotlight on a talented woman who is bucking the trend. Her name is Nandy.
 
BBC Swahili’s own Salim Kikeke, provides the context, and DJ Edu, as ever, provides the music: ten songs in ten minutes from ten different countries.
