Three festivals in Accra have attracted fans from across the continent

We visit Afronation, Afrochella and Detty Rave, three festivals in Accra that have attracted thousands of fans from across the continent.

It’s party time in Accra! Not one, but three music festivals are taking place in Ghana's capital. Afronation, Afrochella and Detty Rave have attracted thousands of music lovers from across Africa. Could it be the biggest party the continent has seen?

Africa is relatively new to the festival game. There have been a handful for the longest time, but in the last three or four years music festivals have mushroomed all over. So what’s special or distinctive about African festivals? We hear from festival goers from Ghana, South Africa and the USA, and from afro-roots star Rocky Dawuni.

Staying in Ghana, the TIA spotlight artist is the original and highly talented Worlasi.
