Sixty people have survived the crash of a Bek Air plane at Almaty airport.

After a failed take-off a plane has crashed near Almaty airport - the Kazakh authorities say there were almost 100 people on board, it seems 60 may have survived, some of them severely injured.

More than 40 people are now confirmed to have been killed in the trail of destruction left by typhoon Phanfone in the Philippines.
