Janice Forsyth speaks to Jay Glennie and Catherine Steadman about their new books and hears about some Christmas TV treats including The Tiger Who Came To Tea and Call The Midwife.

Author Catherine Steadman is best known for her acting role of Mabel Lane Fox in Downton Abbey but she’s also a writer and her debut novel Something In Water was a NYT best seller with film rights optioned by Reece Witherspoon. Now she’s back with a second book Mr Nobody and she drops by to tell Janice all about it.
Tony Kearney discusses his involvement with BBC ALBA documentary Moulin Rouge Ecosse which follows three Scottish dancers at the world famous Moulin Rouge in Paris during its 130th Birthday celebrations. Plus we hear from one of the dancers Lucy Monaghan.
Janice speaks to author Jay Glennie about his new book One Shot – The Making Of Deer Hunter which takes a look behind the scenes at the making of the Oscar-winning film and includes exclusive interviews with cast and crew including Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep.

There’s a Call The Midwife Christmas Day Special on BBC One – we hear from Scottish actor Laura Main who stars as Sister Bernadette in the drama series.
Children’s classic The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr has been adapted to screen for Channel 4 this Christmas by Lupus Films. Producer Camilla Deakin explains the complicated and time consuming process of creating a hand drawn animated film and why the story which is 50 yrs old still has such enduring appeal.
