John chats to members of Monkstown's Boxing Club who benefit from Children In Need. 

John's joined in studio by members of Monkstown's Boxing Club, musical trio Kern from Co Louth, journalist Eamonn Mallie and Paula McIntyre cooks live. 

John meets Des Loughery in a bird hide on the slopes of Benevenagh Mountain to talk about how wildlife photography has helped his mental health and battle against bipolar disorder. In studio members of Monkstown's Boxing Club talk about how money from Children In Need has changed the lives of many young people in the community. Journalist Eamonn Mallie quotes from his new book of poetry; there's live music from folk trio Kern; Joyce Ann McCafferty tells the tale of her father translating James Joyce's Ulysses into Irish and Paula McIntyre cooks up pork, apple and wheat beer casserole.
