Donald Trump has approved a Turkish plan to end Kurdish control of north-eastern Syria, although senior republicans in Congress are warning against it. Turkey's defence ministry says all preparations for a possible military operation in north eastern Syria are complete. What now? 

Also on the programme, the US Commerce Department is adding 28 Chinese organisations to a blacklist over their alleged involvement in abuses against the Uighur population. And heightened fears in South Africa over the safety of women with the killing of women and children being described as a "national crisis."
