Helen Needham spends time with women attending a Next Steps Course offered by the Venture Trust.

In the first half hour Helen Needham spends some time with women who are attending a Next Steps Course offered by the Venture Trust. They live in a rural hostel for five days where they undertake a range of outdoor activities as a way of helping them work through personal difficulties and trauma. She discovers how the outdoors provides a calm and secure setting for them to look forwards.

After the news, the Scottish Land Matching Service is a scheme designed to match retiring landowners with young people keen to get into farming.  Euan finds out all about it.

After a Minke Whale was washed up on the beach at Inverbervie recently it prompted Mark to find out what happens to marine life when it ends up stranded. He speaks to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. 

Out of Doors was sad to hear of the death of Bob Davis who recently accompanied us as a river guide for our programme on the Ythan. We play a clip of Bob from our special programme.

Euan hears the story of Garry Bridge at Killiecrankie and finds out about the plans for a bridge celebration.

Mark visits an archaeological dig at the Mantle Walls, Ancrum where the Ancrum and District Heritage Society is hoping to uncover at least part of what they believe to be the Palace of the Bishops of Glasgow.  

A second piece of mystery art has appeared in Arbroath.  After the ‘mirror man’ or ‘Keptie Kev’ appeared in Keptie Pond a few weeks ago, metal music notes to the tune of Lord of the Dance have appeared at Arbroath Cliffs. Mark goes to investigate.
