The fighting comes despite peace talks between the Taliban and the United States.

The Taliban says it carried out a suicide bombing in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz which killed at least ten people. The attack followed hours of fighting which began when the militants attacked from several directions. The fighting comes despite peace talks between US and Taliban negotiators.

Also a major week in Brexit lies ahead as the UK parliament prepares to briefly reconvene before being suspended for five weeks. And an optimist and a pessimist to discuss whether or not it is true, as a new study claims, that optimists live longer.
