Zeb Soanes chats about his new book 'Gaspard: Best in Show', we review the original Dark Crystal and Nicola tests her scientific circus skills as Aberdeen’s TechFest gets underway.

Zeb Soanes, one of Radio 4’s best-loved newsreaders, tells us all about the next book in his children’s series, “Gaspard: Best in Show”. Inspired by a chance encounter with a friendly urban fox, we hear all about Gaspard’s latest adventures, with a sneak preview of Zeb’s audio book.

Emily Esson tries her hand at homemade mosaicking with Maggie Patience, creator of Aboyne’s Pretty Rubbish Mosaics. 

We hear about plans for the Creative Peebles Festival this weekend, and Nicola takes a walk to the Ben Gunn Cave in Bridge of Allan with local historian, Craig Mair. 

In the second hour of the programme, we try our hand at some scientific circus skills in the studio, as Aberdeen’s annual TechFest gets underway. 

Stephen Hollywood and family review the original Dark Crystal, as NetFlix release their modern remake series. 

Board game fanatics make a pilgrimage to Perth for the Tabletop convention this weekend, and Director Dave Wright joins to tell us all about the event.

And Frankie Vaughan gets up close and personal with some special Highland cattle on the Crieff Cowches art trail.
