In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings, Stuart has crafted a who’s-who of celestial-themed experimental music from the past fifty years. He explores key moments from Brian Eno’s Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks, the (now reissued) album written with his brother Roger and Daniel Lanois to accompany For All Mankind, the 1989 documentary about the Apollo mission. Plus, there’s ethereal vocal drone from Julianna Barwick, afrofuturism old and new from Sun Ra and Shabazz Palaces and space-rock Americana from Black Mountain.
