Dark, enigmatic British band These New Puritans discuss their new work, a set of reimagined pieces from selected David Lynch films to be premiered at Manchester International Festival.

Stuart also explores the cult album Gandharva by Beaver & Krause, in which sinewy blues rock collides with warped, spacey textures from one of the first ever Moog synthesisers. They described the album, which reflects on Hindu mythological themes, as ‘the score to a non-existent film’. Plus, there’s music by Gothenburg galactic synthesist Retep Folo, electrifying art-rock sextet Bent Knee and smoky Canadian ambient from Loscil.
