He has over 3,000 winners to his name and experience going back to the late 1970s and California where he trained horses belonging to - amongst others - the film stars Elizabeth Taylor and Cary Grant. But John Gosden is very much a man who lives in the present as horseracing grapples with issues such as drug use and the economics and marketing of the sport.
