A man armed with a knife has attacked a group of schoolgirls as they waited for a bus in Japan, killing at least one child and one adult.  Police say he has died after stabbing himself in the neck.

In the UK, the battle is on for the top job in politics. After Theresa May announced she's resigning as Prime Minister, many of her Conservative MPs are throwing their hat into the ring.

The president of Malawi, Peter Mutharika has been narrowly elected to a second term in office. The result came after an injunction ordered by the country's high court was lifted.
