Real-life first-person videogame gameshow. Can the Commanders direct their Freedom Fighters through the Ykarus Biotech Station to find Vaygus and secure the Overload Hack?

Last Commanders is CBBC’s first-person, innovative and exciting sci-fi adventure gameshow. Skye and her team of Freedom Fighters battle on, trying to overcome the forces of darkness. Teams of Commanders guide their Freedom Fighter avatars to dodge danger, crack cryptic codes and take on terrifying tasks to complete their mission.

Directly influenced by first-person videogames and YouTube play-through videos, Last Commanders is a genre-busting gaming experience. The players are in teams playing from their own homes but without controllers. They pick their character as they would in a videogame, but instead of being a collection of pixels, their character is a real person responding to their commands. The Commanders see what their avatar character sees and can talk and listen to the Freedom Fighter character they’re playing with. Working together, they try to avoid Game Over and complete their mission. 

First-person gaming to save the universe - all from the comfort of the Commanders’ own sofas! 

Previously on Last Commanders the children of Earth helped Skye save the Kaladian people on the Ykarus Biotech space station from rogue AI Sciron and her Perfection Virus. 

Since then all Kaladians have been fitted with a safety implant to protect them. But the fight continues.

Sciron’s accomplice Doctor Kline developed an Overload Hack to bypass the safety implant. Under the guidance of the Last Commanders, Skye’s freedom fighters captured Kline and retrieved the Overload Hack, but whilst taking it to the vault Vaygus stole it back. He plans to sell it to a mysterious buyer, along with the coordinates of Skye’s location. The freedom fighters need to capture Vaygus before it’s too late!

In this episode, four teams take on the mission: Commanders Matt and Martyna guide secret agent Zarq; Commanders Rhiannon and Caitlin direct rebel Brodie; Commanders Ebony, Vicky and Christian lead tech whizz Fenzie; and Commanders Chris, Daniel and Lucas work with brave Chaylee, as they attempt to track down Vaygus and secure the Overload Hack once and for all.

Combining a science fiction story, intense gameplay from first-person videogames and the fun and entertainment of gameshow television, Last Commanders is a universe-spanning, cyber-tastic, space-opera adventure.
