21 Again

Series 1

Episode 4

Duration: 48 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Northern Ireland HD

Five daughters have sent their mums undercover as 21-year olds in a bid to show them what life is like to be them; but have they done enough to bridge an epic generation gap and bring them closer? We're about to find out as they enter the final leg of this unique 21-day experiment.

Before the mums are released back into their natural habitat, the girls have one final chance to immerse them in their world. So, this week the mums get woken up to the big issues that their daughters’ generation cares most about - from veganism to politics to feeding the homeless.

Once again the girls push their mums’ boundaries. But how far will the mums go to understand their daughters? It turns out that while some of the mothers can survive without dairy and meat, others need to sneak off to break the rules! Meanwhile, Millie, who wishes her mum, Salena, would engage with politics and vote, sends her off to university for a political master class. Meanwhile, some of the mums are forced out onto the streets of Liverpool to help a young homeless volunteer deliver food to rough sleepers in Liverpool city centre. The experience of meeting one particular homeless man has a significant impact on Harjit as she's brought to tears by his story.

As the experiment comes to an end, the girls and mums host an event for all the young people they’ve met during the undercover experiment. The guests have no idea they've been hanging out with middle-aged women over the last 21 days, but now it's time to tell all. With nerves showing, the mums reveal their true ages to the lads they've dated, the employers they've fooled, and the new 20-something mates they've made. The guests are in for the mother of all surprises when they discover they've been hanging out with middle-aged mums, and find out the other big surprise when they meet their daughters. Show less
