US imposes extra duty on Chinese goods, Beijing threatens retaliation

The United States has followed through with its threat to more than double tariffs on two-hundred billion dollars’ worth of imports from China.  

The Commerce Ministry in Beijing said it deeply regretted the US action and would take counter-measures.
