British MPs slam Facebook for data abuse and call for regulators to step in

Facebook deliberately broke privacy and competition law and should urgently be subject to statutory regulation, according to a report from the UK's parliament, denouncing the company and its executives as “digital gangsters”.

Facebook has welcomed the digital select committee's report and said it would be open to "meaningful regulation".
