This week Roddy Hart’s guests are The Slow Readers Club and Astrid.

The Slow Readers Club are a 4 piece from Manchester who deal in anthemic electro noir with shades of Interpol and Editors.   They’ve toured with James and played festivals across Europe but are poised to head out on their biggest UK headline tour this spring.  The Quay Sessions is their only Glasgow date, showcasing songs from their Top 20 album Build A Tower.

Astrid are a Scots band whose debut album, Strange Weather Lately, was produced by Edwyn Collins.  They went on to release 2 more albums before disbanding in 2004.  They’re back this year with a brand new album - Fall, Stand, Dance – which will be released on Edwyn’s label AED Records in April.  Astrid share exclusive material and songs from their back catalogue.
