The Intermediate range Nuclear Forces Treaty was signed with the Soviet Union in 1987.

US officials are expected to confirm they are suspending participation in a nuclear weapons treaty with Russia that has been a centrepiece of European security since the Cold War. The Intermediate range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) was signed with Russia in 1987.
