Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro says he is closing his country's embassy in the US.

President Nicolas Maduro says he is closing his country's embassy in the US. It comes just a day after the Trump administration recognised the opposition leader, Juan Guaido, as interim president. Dr Gabriel Hetland from the State University of New York at Albany provides analysis. 

Also in the programme, the billionaire philanthropist George Soros has used his annual speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos to attack China. The BBC's Joe Miller reports from Switzerland. In Sudan, security forces have clashed with demonstrators in the capital, Khartoum. Eric Reeves is a senior fellow at Harvard's Center for Health and Human Rights and explains the implications.
