Some people caught up in the Nairobi attack had witnessed terror before, our correspondent learns. Pascale Harter introduces this and other stories from around the world.

At the scene of the Islamist militant group al-Shabab’s attack in Nairobi, our correspondent Tomi Oladipo discovers that some people there had witnessed terror before. One of them is a man who rescued people from both this week’s attack, and another al-Shabab attack on Nairobi’s Westgate shopping mall back in 2013.

Nick Sturdee examines the split between the Ukrainian and Russian branches of the Orthodox Church and has a strange encounter involving a black-robed priest, alleged KGB stooges and a mysterious man in a white car.
