As Mici Ban threatens to blackmail Tom over an old murder, Seamus starts to get feelings for Estella without knowing she has his baby. Kate Mulryan, who is the baby's real mother, descends into a drunken and drugged mess before taking her own life while high on Laudanum. The locals whip up anti-Indian sentiment in town, resulting in Sam Steele riding out to see if the stories of scalping are true and leaving the town under the control of the imposter Peachy Taylor, causing things go from bad worse with the typhoid outbreak spreading. Captain Pat is getting restless in his prison cell but he knows he'll be out soon, and Bridget Mannion and Padraig Connolly better look out.
