A government official says the incident occurred near Damascus

The Syrian government says its forces have intercepted a missile fired by an Israeli aircraft. An official said it happened close to the capital Damascus and that a weapons dump was hit. 

Protests continue in Sudan. Clashes erupted Tuesday in the capital Khartoum between police and thousands of protesters attempting to march on the presidential palace.
