Four former NI secretaries urge Karen Bradley to draw a line under the past and prioritise compensation for victims of the Troubles over investigations. 

Draw a line under the past. That's the message from a cross-party group of Westminster politicians to secretary of state Karen Bradley. She is currently considering a £150 million plan to deal with the past. Lord Peter Hain and seven other signatories have advised prioritising compensation for victims over investigation. So, is financial support for victims for the Troubles a better way to spend £150 million set aside to deal with legacy issues rather than fresh investigations? Vinny spoke to Andree Murphy from Relatives for Justice and Former Assistant Chief Constable Alan McQuillan.

Also on the programme, negotiations on Brexit and the border are likely to continue into next month. That's the prediction from the Republic's Foreign Minister. Simon Coveney also said we're unlikely to see the UK's proposals on the controversial backstop issue anytime soon. Vinny spoke to BBC NI Economics and Business Editor John Campbell, Professor Ailsa Henderson, Open Democracy journalist Peter Geoghegan, and Frank Shivers from the NI Conservatives.

And, the UK Supreme Court has just ruled that the refusal of Ashers bakery to make the so-called 'gay cake' was not discriminatory. In a judgement delivered in London, the court supported the company's right not to bake a cake for gay rights activist Gareth Lee with the slogan 'Support Gay Marriage'. The five justices on the Supreme Court were unanimous in their judgement. Vinny got reaction from John O'Doherty from Rainbow Project, David Smyth from Evangelical Alliance and Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, Dr. Michael Wardlow.
