Is violence getting out of hand in Gaelic football? 



A series of ugly brawls at GAA matches, is violence getting out of hand in Gaelic football? Sports journalist Steven Beacom and commentator Daithi McKay discuss. 

Is violence at Gaelic football getting out of control? Brawls at a string of recent GAA matches have led to concerns the game's reputation is being tarnished by violence. One former GAA star has described some of the recent fights as thuggery in the Irish News this week. Recently there were scenes of fighting just off the pitch between players and others at Sunday's match between Downpatrick Russell Gaelic Union and Ballyholland Harps. This followed an on pitch brawl on Thursday between Slaughtneil and Ballinderry reserves. So does Gaelic football have a problem with on-field violence? Is it any worse than soccer or rugby? And if so, what's the solution? Vinny spoke to sports journalist Steven Beacom and commentator Daithi McKay.

Also on the programme, would you consider yourself to be middle class? And how can you be sure anyway? If you own a barbecue then you're well on your way. Having an Aga or a wood burning stove also qualifies you - as does using coasters! Vinny spoke to working class hero Jim McDowell and etiquette expert William Hanson - who carried out the research.

And, has the so-called curse of Strictly Come Dancing struck again? Comedian Seann Walsh and the professional dancer Katya Jones have hit the headlines after they were seen kissing outside a pub, despite both being in serious relationships. Both of them have released statements apologising for their actions claiming it was a one off fuelled by alcohol. But now there have been calls for them to be removed from the show. Vinny got the views of commentator Tina Calder and journalist Niamh Horan.
