Nicola Singleton visits Rosyth, where growing and cooking nourish the local community.

Gardening expert Nicola Singleton visits EATS Rosyth, where the local community are cultivating 'edible and tasty spaces' throughout the town.

Gardening expert Nicola Singleton visits the Edible and Tasty Spaces (EATS) Rosyth project, where local volunteers are planting fruit, vegetables and flowers in public spaces across the town of Rosyth. Joined by project managers John Warnock, Danny Hughes and Karen Dorrat and a group of committed volunteers, we celebrate the role of growing, cooking and eating good food in community life.

Chef Christopher Trotter serves up a vegetable curry using freshly picked produce from the community garden, where the team are growing everything from grapes to green beans. 

Nicola shares her top tips for summer pruning in the Rosyth Centenary Orchard, home to a heritage apple tree that is thought to be progenitor of all modern apple varieties. 

And Frankie Vaughan drops into one of the weekly pay-as-you-feel community dinners to hear how locally grown ingredients are nourishing new relationships.
