Scottish Violence Reduction Unit's Khadija Coll on the new One Community initiative.

Khadija Coll on the new One Community initiative, the NHS at 70 and spiritual care, Srebrenica Memorial Day, and the links between inequality and mental health.

Cathy speaks to Kenyan-born Khadija Coll, who was instrumental in getting legislation outlawing female genital mutilation passed and recently launched a new initiative called 'One Community' with the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit. The project aims to help support families from the Horn of Africa in Glasgow and guide children away from violence.

On the 25th anniversary of the Assynt Crofters' Trust's land buyout, Cathy is joined by Mike Small from Bella Caledonia, and Professor Jim Hunter, author & historian, to look at the significance of that first public buyout, and how Assynt influenced and is still influencing other communities in Scotland.

On the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service, we look at who is providing the spiritual care and how that has changed over time, with Reverend Chris Levison, former hospital chaplain and trainer, and Andy Gillies, who heads up the spiritual care team at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank.

To mark Srebrenica Memorial Day this month, Carol Purcell who visited Bosnia-Herzegovina with the charity Remembering Srebrenica Scotland, hears from survivors, those who lost their families, and those trying to help remember and to heal the past.

'The Inner Level' follows on from best-seller 'The Spirit Level' by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Picket, looking at how inequality affects our mental and emotional well-being. Reverend Dr Iain Whyte, former Community Mental Health chaplain, and journalist Eve Livingston, review the book and explore its potential impact.
