Billy Kay continues to explore the story of the Scots of Ulster. Part two of this series from the BBC archive takes us back to 1798, to the weaver poets and the rebellion of 1798.

One from the BBC archive, first broadcast in 1990, this episode of our archive documentary series sees the Scottish author and broadcaster Billy Kay take a trip back in time to 1798. Novelist Sam Hanna Bell, acclaimed broadcaster Davy Hammond and the historian ATQ Stewart  are among the voices helping him to explore the diverse and fascinating  legacy of the Scots of Ulster. Episode two of this four part series explores the legacy of the Weaver Poets and the impact of the rebellion of the United Irishmen  at the end of the eighteenth century.
