He made the comments to the BBC's political editor Mark Devenport yesterday.

So is he sticking strictly to the terms of Good Friday Agreement or is it a big step for a UK government to remain neutral on the future of the country?

Plus, the Gay rights charity The Rainbow Project has hit out at the Nolan show after they say we broadcast content that was unashamedly homophobic. The commentator Lynette Burrows was strongly challenged yesterday after she said this about the possibility of two men dancing together on strictly come dancing. The conversation this morning is about what parameters should there be around free speech. Is she entitled to air those type of views on the BBC or not? John O'Doherty is from the Rainbow project.

Also, the SDLP has asked road chiefs to use the word Derry alongside Londonderry, on new roadsigns - in a compromise on the city's longstanding name row. MLA Mark H Durkan contacted the permanent secretary Peter May with the request that he believed would end sign vandalism - but was told no. The response said "the primary destination already used should be the starting point when designing new or replacement signs". "Londonderry" is already on existing signs and therefore it is the name that will be used..."

And, would you pay extra to save the NHS? The Institute for Fiscal Studies and Health Foundation has said that the NHS would need an extra four percent a year - or £2,000 per UK household - for the next 15 years in order to  avoid "a decade of misery.".
