Primary Drama: Key Stage 2 offers simple-to-use drama resources for primary school children aged 7 to 11 which are linked to popular curriculum topics. The drama sessions are intended to be easy for non-specialist teachers to use, providing opportunities to extend classroom work through the exciting possibilities offered by drama activities. Each session has a carefully balanced mix of movement, speaking and listening activities and role play. The Teachers' Notes include clear instructions for how teachers can effectively organise and deliver the drama activities in each session.

The first of two programmes exploring the archaeological find at Sutton Hoo

The first episode of a two-part interactive drama in which children become archaeologists exploring what we can find out about the Anglo-Saxons from the Sutton Hoo ship.

The first episode of a two-part drama in which children become archaeologists to explore what we can find out about the Anglo-Saxons from the archaeological find at Sutton Hoo. We meet Becky, a young archaeologist, who begins the story of the famous discovery.

In 1938 Mrs Edith Pretty approaches a local archaeologist, Basil Brown, to begin excavations on the site. At his insistence the largest of the mounds is left untouched. However, the smaller mounds yield very few artefacts. In May the following year Brown returns and this time he begins excavations on the largest mound. Within four days he and his helpers have uncovered the impression of the Sutton Hoo ship. They are on the verge of a great discovery.

A two-part interactive drama exploring what can be learnt about the Anglo-Saxons from the archaeological discovery at Sutton Hoo. Pupils take on the role of young archaeologists to explore the burial mounds at Sutton Hoo and how one of these yielded the greatest find of Anglo-Saxon artefacts ever made. The pupils then consider what we can learn about the Anglo-Saxons from the extraordinary buial ship and the treasures it contained.
