On The Arts Hour this week, Nikki Bedi is joined by the American writer Lionel Shriver, whose best-selling novels include We Need to Talk about Kevin, and the Oscar winning Chilean screenwriter and film producer Gonzalo Maza.

Lionel Shriver discusses her latest book Property, a collection of short stories about ownership in all its guises.  Gonzalo Maza talks about his Oscar winning film A Fantastic Woman, which follows Maria, a transgender woman in Chile who is struggling to cope with the death of her lover.

Swedish actress Sofia Helin, who is best known for playing difficult and brilliant detective Saga Norén in Scandi Noir drama The Bridge, discusses starring in the fourth and final series.

British actress Emily Blunt talks about her chilling new horror film, A Quiet Place, the “Princess of Pop”, Australian singer Kylie explains why the sounds of Nashville influenced her latest album.

And Mexican American author Jennifer Clement discusses why she wanted to examine the affect North American gun laws have on the rest of the world in her latest novel, Gun Love.
