A new compilation of significant jazz recordings from 1899-1959, plus memories of significant jazz producer George Avakian.

The Properbox four CD box set of historic recordings from 1899 to 1959 includes many significant names - Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Noone, Charlie Parker and Dave Brubeck. Recordings from the compilation are included in this edition, plus a remembrance of significant jazz producer and talent spotter George Avakian who died in November with part of a conversation recorded in New York in 2014.
