On today's show Janice looks back at some of the books and authors featured on the show over the past year. 

Sir Salman Rushdie tells Janice about his new novel, The Golden House. Set in New York, it tells the story of a mysterious patriarch and his three sons, and has been described as Rushdie's Great American novel. Armando Iannucci speaks to Janice about his new book Hear Me Out which reveals his lifelong love of classical music. Dawn French talks about her book Me. You. A Diary. Published in the week she turned 60, she shares confidences with the reader, and encourages them to do the same. Edi Stark talks to the inimitable comedian Eddie Izzard about his memoir and Nicola Meighan meets debut authors Gail Honeyman and Olivia Sudjic. 

And as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone turns 20, our Book Group Critics discuss what they made of J K Rowling's first book in the series.
