BBC Radio 3 charts the cultural impact, legacy and cost of this moment in time, across the following century, to the present day. 

Plus legendary jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim and his band Ekaya join Sean in the studio, as well as tenor Lawrence Brownlee ahead of his appearance in the Royal Opera House's new production of Semiramide.
