Released in June 1976 by 20th Century Fox, and starring Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, the movie had a vast and lasting impact - reviving Peck's career, spawning several sequels and remakes, and launching a wave of Antichrist-themed movies. 

In this first episode, Kathy, wife of American diplomat Robert Thorn gives birth to a boy. 

They name him Damien.
