The Independent Custody Visiting Association supports and represents local custody visiting schemes where volunteers make unannounced visits to police custody to check on the rights, entitlements and well-being of detainees. Following a case witnessed by one of their volunteers more recently they've been looking at how, often very vulnerable, women in custody are treated when they are having a period. Jenni talks to Katie Kempen, Chief Executive of ICVA, about what they uncovered and to Superintendent for Thames Valley Katy Barrow-Grint about the difficulties of dealing with detainees with complex needs.

Dido, Queen of Carthage is being performed for the first time by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon with Chipo Chung playing the African monarch. She joins Jenni and Professor of Classics, Edith Hall to reveal what we really know about her beyond Christopher Marlowe's version.

Until now, only men in Saudi Arabia were allowed driving licences and women who drove in public risked being arrested and fined. Following last week's decree to allow women to drive for the first time, we look at whether this is a step toward women in Saudi eventually gaining complete freedom from male guardianship, or will these moves be faced with a stubborn community refusing to change? Jenni speaks to Hatoon el Fasy, historian, activist and writer.
