Although convent life offers solace, Gudrun prepares to do whatever it takes to win back her daughter.  Stars Kate Phillips.

Gudrun's rival in love, Hrefna, returns to Iceland with a band of missionaries and a plan to convert the country to Christianity. 

Her motives for returning to the land where her husband was murdered are far less clear cut.

Gudrun, a young woman in 11th century Iceland, must forge her path through a world of unearthly beauty yet uncompromising harshness.
