Lauren Laverne has north east alt-pop heroes Maximo Park live in session, playing tracks from their latest album, Risk to Exist.

Lauren has North East alt-pop heroes and all round lovely lads, Maximo Park, live in session. They'll be playing tracks from their latest album Risk to Exist amidst the white bricks of the 6 Music Live Room. 

A record where the personal is also the political, Risk to Exist is the band's sixth studio album and one that reflects current climes with intelligence and emotional conviction, a perfect example of pop songs tackling big issues. 

Co-produced Tom Schick (who has worked with the likes of Wilco and White Denim) alongside the Maximo Park, recording saw the band decamp to Wilco's studio in Chicago and record the tracks completely live.
