Edi Stark goes to two different parts of France to meet young and old, working and retired expat Scots and ask if they managed to turn their dreams into reality.

As far back as the Auld alliance in the 13th century, Scots have had an affinity with France. Fast forward to the 21st century and there's a new alliance.... Edi Stark meets a captivating mix of ex pat Scots, young and old, working and retired who have moved from Scotland to live on the glitzy cote d'azur or La France profonde...the traditional rural heart of the country.
 In a programme bringing with humour and honesty, they describe their varying experiences. Have they turned their dream into reality...or does reality (including the prospect of Brexit and terrorism) obscure the dream?
