America says it's in response to a Syrian government 'gas attack'

The United States says it has attacked an airbase in Syria with fifty cruise missiles. This comes after a Tuesday's suspected gas attack on a rebel-held town that killed dozens of civilians. 

Ahead of the French presidential elections later this month, a Newsday team is in Strasbourg, in the north east of the country, to hear about people's expectations in the run-up to polling day.

For the first time ever, scientists say they have discovered an atmosphere around an Earth-like planet.
