Mark Stephen goes on an adventure down the new Shieldhall Tunnel in Glasgow and tries his hand at bike polo. Plus Out of Doors talks to David Leggat, formerly of United Auctions.

David Leggat has recently stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman from United Auctions, after 42 years in the livestock auction industry. He reflects on his career, and the changes he has witnessed, in an exclusive interview to Out of Doors.

Mark investigates the Scottish squirrel scene with keen outdoorsman, Dave MacFadyzen, at the Andy Goldsworthy Striding Arch sculptures near Moniave.

The folk that brought us The Great British Bake Off are looking for Scottish model railway enthusiasts to take part in a massive undertaking, building a railway the length of the Great Glen! Charlotte Armstrong, of Love Productions, shared her vision for the Great Glen project with Euan at the Model Rail Scotland Exhibition in Glasgow.

Scottish Water are building a tunnel on the South Side of Glasgow to improve the water quality in the Clyde. Jason Fawcett, deputy project manager of Shieldhall Tunnel, took Mark down to the tunnel to show him the progress so far.

A few weeks ago, a listener got in touch and asked if beavers would interact or compete with otters in the wild. The Loch of the Lowes Scottish Wildlife Trust nature reserve near Dunkeld is about to start running evening beaver watches, so we sent Euan to find out if otters and beavers can co-exist in harmony. 

Cyclists are an inventive lot, and now the ancient sport of polo (usually played on horseback) is fair game to cyclists in the shape of bike polo. The game was created by bike messengers in Seattle and here in Scotland, Glasgow is the place to go for a chukka or two. Mark finds out more about this new craze from the Glasgow Bike Polo team.
