The departure of Michael Flynn comes less than one month into the Trump administration

President Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, has resigned after it was revealed that he misled White House officials about his contacts with Russia. 

The United States has imposed sanctions on the vice-president of Venezuela - Tareck El Aissami - accusing him of being a major drug trafficker. 

Shares in the Japanese electronics giant Toshiba have fallen sharply after it delayed a report on losses in its nuclear energy business.
